Saga Woodworks is owned and operated by me, Paul Nordin. The name “Saga” is inspired by my Nordic heritage; my grandfather emigrated from Sweden; and by the Sagas which are folkloric stories from the old world of great ventures and heroes. Regardless of what I am building I try to imbue a hint of epic storytelling and old-world craftsmanship in the art of the piece.

From an early age in my father’s wood shop I developed a love for hand build furniture and the drive to be an ever more skilled craftsman. With over 40 years experience, the heart of what I do is create custom, unique furniture.
I work in collaboration with my clients to produce handmade furniture in modern, contemporary, & traditional designs.
My shop is located in the heart of Emeryville, in what at one time was a heavily industrial area.
